About this book

This new handbook has been produced to support the embedding of the global dimension in teacher education. It is a timely publication with the advent of the new secondary and primary curricula and the promotion of thematic and cross-curricular learning.

It includes a framework for how the global dimension (GD) links to learning and teaching, the Qualified Teacher Status standards in a global learning context, how mentors and tutors can support their trainees to engage with the GD, an overview of questioning, critical thinking / literacy skills and teaching strategies, how the GD links to other curriculum initiatives such as Every Child Matters and Community Cohesion.
