The Games We Play
The aims of the project
This project will enable children to explore their cultural communities'
similarities and differences through an educational and creative play
process. The project will be replicable and adaptable to the needs of
the schools and the children.
Project partners
DEP (education consultants, co-ordination,
administration), a community artist, Southern Voices as cultural consultants.
Aims and objectives
- to enable children to develop a greater understanding
of their communities as a whole;
- to increase knowledge and positive interaction
with cultural communities to reduce tensions around diversity;
- to encourage children in creative and active play;
- to encourage children to learn about the cultures
that make up their communities;
- to encourage intercultural understanding and social
interaction;
- to encourage development of school-to-school and
school-to-wider community links.
