The students were all well prepared to lead full days in primary school this year. This was a really powerful
learning experience for the students and I was immensely proud to have been a part of this. Thank you so much for

Global Citizenship Workshops for year 5 pupils and their teachers
This workshop involved 5 pupils with a teacher from each school learning about global connections and global citizenship

Peer Education Sessions Year 8’s teaching Year 5’s
2/3 Year 8 pupils went into each primary school to deliver sessions (2 in total) in:
- Introduction to Global Citizenship
- Children’s rights – Locally and Globally

Global Week
An entire week of events across all schools in the Bolton Cluster, where DEP arranged for each school a ‘Global connections,
Fair trade and Drumming’ workshop delivered by an educational consultant and musician. DEP also delivered a Philosophy for
Global Citizenship Session to Year 4 & 5 classes.

The global citizenship game creation workshop
These sessions was based around the creation of a board game that helped pupils think creatively about the concept of global
citizenship, and increase their understanding of it. The sessions also involved role play, discussions, games and idea sharing
activities.

Pupil Forum on Fair Trade
This forum for pupils in Trafford area looked at Fair Trade. The day included a pupil presentation, simulation games, story
telling, drama and art workshops. The forum gave pupils a great opportunity to think about the wider world and their role
in it.

Pupil Forum on Food
A food event for Year 5, 6 & 7 pupils from Manchester schools, a day to encourage pupils to be healthy, enjoy and achieve
and make a positive contribution. Pupils explored food and environmental sustainability through drama. They used rhythm
and clapping in a food tasting session of fruit from around the world. Pupils also looked at different spices and their
uses in different cultures and cooking through global food art.
