Brief overview
DEP staff, in collaboration with science communicators, have developed school-based activities for classroom sessions – ranging from an Innovation Hour to a whole year group problem-solving activity.
We can also help set up a STEM Inventions for the Real World club – training both staff and volunteers.
Key aims
- To engage with the problems facing the global community
- To develop practical skills
- To work cooperatively in groups on a design task
- To unleash creativity and innovation – in both pupils and staff!
Activities meet science, design and technology, enterprise and citizenship targets.
Some focus areas are climate change, food production, reduction and upscaling of waste, community cohesion – anything that excites and motivates!
