Teach Climate Change

Introduction

The publication and the website (www.teachclimatechange.org) aim to be comprehensive and authoritative tools allowing teachers to select the most appropriate resource for their needs.  The resources are searchable by key stage, subject and climate change category.

Brief overview

We recognise that teachers want to have access to relevant materials to strengthen and enhance their teaching across all key stages.  This website is a comprehensive and authoritative tool allowing teachers to select the most appropriate resource for their needs.  Climate change in particular is of interest because it is a local to global challenge and affects us all.  It integrates many subjects and provides cross-curricular learning opportunities.  In addition it links to many whole school initiatives such as Healthy Schools, Sustainable Schools, Every Child Matters and the International Schools Award.

Climate Change Trump Cards.

Within this project DEP have developed a trump style card game which is suitable for Key Stage 2 upwards. This game is educational, interesting and engaging, and is a perfect way to learn about climate change and energy is the classroom and at home. Each of the beautifully designed cards represents an energy source, with fantastic facts to teach about the different energy sources.
