How can humankind respond to the enormous challenges we are currently facing? How can educators help develop an understanding of 'one world'; and our roles as global citizens?

Our biggest challenge in this new century is to take an idea that sounds abstract; sustainable development; and turn it into reality for all the world's people.

Kofi Annan, Secretary General of the United Nations

How can you get involved in the Sustainable Cities project?

Dulce School Vegetable garden projectIf you are interested in helping to develop a sustainable school, with pupils as active citizens, why not get involved in one of the activities? You could share results with other schools, members of the community or agencies interested in sustainability issues. This may lead to work on making a more sustainable neighbourhood, and in turn play a part in making a more sustainable city. You may even want to share results by emailing the Project Co-ordinators (info@dep.org.uk) or other schools taking part in the project.
