Educational Activities

DEP runs a range of educational activities for schools. These activities are flexible and can be run for:

  1. classes,
  2. year groups or
  3. whole school.

Some of the events we have run recently include:

  • Enterprise Learning (KS3/4) (with a focus on developing social enterprise) projects with local businesses
  • Sustainable Schools / Education for Sustainable Development (all key stages)
  • Peer Education Forums (KS 2/3) including:
    1. A day event for pupils from one school or clusters
    2. Food
    3. Fair Trade
    4. Social Enterprise
  • Games
    1. The Global game (KS 2-4) - a two day session peer education session - exploring global citizenship and developing a floor based game.
    2. The Games We Play - An activity designed for children aged 5-11 which uses play and games to develop understanding of far away places and children's own and other cultures. It encourages children's indivdual research skills and communication within their peer groups, in a manner available to all abilities.
  • Simulations
    1. Simulation models which explore global issues from trade to food. Click here for an example of Simulation.
